A Year In Review 2021

Thank you for joining me as we kick off another year of fantastic programming, networking, and supporting each other at AFP Greater Madison (AFPGM). I’m thrilled to be starting my second year as your chapter president, and I look forward to the great things we’ll accomplish together. But, before we get too far into 2022 plans, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the great things that happened for our chapter and members last year. Take a few moments to read through reflections on this past year's work.

In Memory of Boris Frank

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Boris Frank. His presence, influence, and spirit will be greatly missed at AFP Greater Madison and in the community. Our sincere condolences to Boris' family. Boris was a founding member of AFP Greater Madison and served our organization in many ways throughout the years. Boris' obituary may be found here. We encourage you to share a message with his family. A celebration of life will be announced for a date in the near future.

Letter from the President

In case we haven’t met in person, and we all know that the next opportunity may be a long way off, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’ve been working with the chapter since I first moved to Madison in 2013 and joined the National Philanthropy Day committee. From 2014-2017, I was the chapter’s first Young Professional Chair, helping to kick off our important outreach to those new to the field. Finally, I moved to serve as Membership chair for three years, which gave me a chance to meet many of you! Before moving here, I was a music teacher in Ohio, so it’s safe to say that AFP has been my introduction to the world of development. I’ve learned so much through our programming and it’s given me the chance to meet so many incredible local professionals over the years. I’m excited to be taking on the role of Chapter President this year and look forward to giving back to the chapter that has done so much for me!

Chapter Director 2021

Before we get too far into the 2021 year, we did want to share a staffing change with you all. AFP Greater Madison Board of Directors is proud to announce the hiring of Jen Davie, CFRE, as our new Chapter Director.

In Support of Justice

AFP Greater Madison supports those seeking to build a better future for all in our communities and holds zero tolerance for the racist actions taking place. Now, more than ever, we are here to listen, learn, connect, and support.

Stay Connected to AFP Greater Madison

We know that we write to you in unprecedented times and a period of instability for our nonprofit partners and community. This is a difficult time for many and we want you to know that we are here for you. AFP Greater Madison has always been a hub for connection among our fundraising community. While we are unable to bring us all together we want to remain that during this time.
