Join us as our panel,  Lisa Peyton-Caire of the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness , Angela Davis of Madison Community Foundation, and Jenny Pressman of the UW Odyssey Project, discuss how to generate support for new or grassroots nonprofits, particularly those launched by and in diverse communities.

The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness

Lisa Peyton-Caire founded The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness after losing her mother to heart disease at age 64. Peyton-Caire launched Black Women’s Wellness Day on May 22, 2008.  Black Women’s Wellness Day is an annual health summit dedicated to informing, inspiring, and empowering women and girls to build and sustain healthy, thriving, wellness-centered lives, and brings together women, health partners, wellness practitioners, community leaders, and organizations in support and solidarity for Black women’s health. 

Jenny Pressman, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

 The UW Odyssey Project

Jenny Pressman is a passionate fundraiser, philanthropist, and community activist. After receiving her law degree from UW-Madison, she practiced civil, consumer protection, and nonprofit law in the Baltimore/DC area. Jenny returned to Wisconsin to direct a private charitable foundation, helping fund some of Madison’s most innovative organizations and community projects. For the last several years she has worked directly with nonprofits to help them achieve financial sustainability as a consultant, board member, and most recently as the Development Director of the Goodman Community Center and now the UW Odyssey Project.

Angela R. Davis, DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Madison Community Foundation

Angela is part of Madison Community Foundation’s Donor Engagement team and serves as Development Director. She assists individuals and nonprofit organizations achieve their philanthropic goals. She is also the staff liaison to A Fund for Women and MCF’s six regional giving partners in the neighboring Wisconsin communities of Columbus, Lodi, Middleton, Monona, Portage and Rio. These partners work with MCF to support specific local communities and causes.
