Things all fundraisers should do in January!

About the Event

Major gift development isn't hard. It's a discipline. And, it's scalable. David Allen, Fundraising & Organizational Development Consultant with Development for Conservation, will share his simple, scalable approach for shaping your year ahead of major gift fundraising. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting, this session will motivate you to get your year started off on the right foot.

About David Allen

Since 2003, I have worked with land trusts and other non-profit conservation organizations under the business name Development for Conservation, focusing on fundraising assessment (development audits) and major gift development training. I am a regular presenter at the Land Trust Alliance’s national conference, “Rally,” as well as several other regional land trust conferences. In addition to development audits and major gift development training, I also offer capital and annual campaign consulting services.

I have worked in membership fundraising, major donor development, communications, marketing, and senior administrative management for 30 years, including nearly half that time with Nature Conservancy (TNC) chapters in Oregon, Texas, and Wisconsin. I also served TNC nationally as an internal fundraising consultant and major donor development trainer. Following my work with TNC, I served 9 years in senior administrative management with the Sand County Foundation.

I consider myself a strategic thinker, problem solver, facilitator, educator, and program developer who brings a particular passion for conservation and the environment.
