Community Book Read 2025: Decolonizing Wealth
About the Event
The Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Madison (AFP-Greater Madison) invites you to a community book read and discussion of Decolonizing Wealth by Edgar Villanueva.
Join us on Tuesday, October 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Madison Public Library- Central (201 W Mifflin St, Madison, WI 53703) for a thoughtful evening of conversation. Guided by Abha Thakkar of Mosaic Consulting, we’ll explore how colonization has shaped money, philanthropy, and power—and how we can begin to use money as a tool for healing and repair.
Participants will engage with discussion questions, connect in small groups, and consider personal and collective actions toward a more just future. Light refreshments will be provided.
📖 Want to read along? Copies of the book are available for purchase online or at your local bookstore. The Madison Public Library system also has copies available for check-out. AFP is also happy to assist readers with purchasing the book if cost is a barrier. We have a limited number (10 copies) of books available on a first-come, first-served basis. Email dani.luckett@tnc.org for details.
