AFP ICON Scholarship – Annie Louis

The annual AFP ICON conference is heading to New Orleans April 16 – 18. This year’s conference is sure to be filled with education, professional development, and fun (how can it not be fun with a theme like “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler” or “Let the Good Times Roll”?!) Thanks to the AFP Greater Madison Scholarship program, our chapter will be sending multiple members to the conference.

One of the AFP Greater Madison Chapter members attending AFP ICON is Annie Louis. Annie is the Associate Development Director for American Players Theatre. She joined AFP last October, following a move to a new front-facing donor role at her organization. Shortly after joining the Chapter, Annie learned about the AFP ICON and was discussing the conference with her supervisor, Michele Traband. Michele suggested Annie look into the scholarship opportunities provided by the AFP Greater Madison Chapter and apply. Annie was one of two members selected for the scholarship!

“The application itself was very straightforward,” said Annie. “I appreciated the space to discuss my own commitment to fundraising and to think through the outcomes I expected to gain from this experience.”

AFP ICON will feature more than 100 educational sessions, to choose from, inspiring keynote speakers, and thousands of fellow fundraisers to network with. As for Annie, she is most looking forward to learning from her peers. “AFP ICON will give me an exciting opportunity to develop knowledge in a variety of fundraising topics from experienced professionals and connect with my peers from around the country. I am thrilled to be able to support my early career in this way.”

Congratulations to Annie for being selected as an AFP ICON scholarship recipient. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
