Kristi Shepard, Senior Director of Foundation and Gift Planning, of United Way of Dane County serves on United Way Worldwide's Major & Planned Giving Council. The council shares best practices develops strategies to grow and steward major gifts in the United Way network. Representing Dane County, Kristi joins 25 other development professionals on the council.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens is pleased to hire Elizabeth Spry as their new Membership & Development Associate. Elizabeth joins the Gardens from a previous position managing events, volunteers, and membership with MREA (Midwest Renewable Energy Association) in Stevens Point.

We are pleased to announce that Pete Schwieger, Major Gifts Associate from Wisconsin Public Television, and AFP Board Member is the proud new parent of Emerson Gordon Schwieger. Emmy was born on September 14 at noon exactly.  Congratulations to Pete and Corinne.  We wish you the best as you do your part to raise the next generation of PBS KIDS.

Movin’ Out has a new director, Kathryne Auerback. Kathryne's talents as a values-based strategic leader were crafted in managing green building and other environmental and health-related businesses. Most recently, she was the marketing director of a health technology company that helps empower patients to be active partners in their care.

Alex Haunty, our 2015 National Philanthropy Day Young Philanthropist Award Winner, received the 2018 Star of Touring Broadway Award from Broadway League. Alex creates arts and sells his art so that he can buy tickets to take people with disabilities to a Broadway show at Overture Center for the Arts. He, along with his family, started the nonprofit organization Alex Haunty's Theater and Arts Fund, Inc.

Jake Immel, AFP Greater Madison's Board Secretary, has been promoted to Donor Engagement & Grants Manager at Olbrich Botanical Gardens.

Ruth Hansen, a faculty member in nonprofit management at UW-Whitewater and recent transfer from AFP-Chicago, graduated from the doctoral program at Indiana University's Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Members of several AFP chapters participated in her research on fundraising.

Congratulations to Ashlyn Mehlhaff who started a new position with Henry Vilas Zoo as Development Director.

Nasra Wehelie is on the move. Nasra recently started in her new role as Director of Development and Communications with Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
