Program Manager, Safety & Justice and Basic Needs

The Program Manager, Safety & Justice and Basic Needs, supports Roots & Wings Foundation’s grantmaking and community partnership work across Wisconsin, with a focus on Dane County. This role manages grant portfolios, builds relationships with nonprofit and community partners, supports participatory grantmaking efforts, and helps advance trust-based philanthropy practices.

The Program Manager works collaboratively with the Program team to strengthen funding strategies, support grantee partners beyond grantmaking, and help ensure the foundation’s work aligns with community needs and long-term impact goals. The ideal candidate brings experience in philanthropy or nonprofit leadership, strong relationship-building skills, and a deep commitment to equity and social impact work.

The Roots & Wings Foundation (“the foundation”) is a family foundation headquartered in Seattle, Washington, launched to help children grow strong from the roots up. The foundation invests in four program areas: Basic Needs, Early Learning, Health, and Safety & Justice.
