Grants Coordinator

Office Location: 2939 South Fish Hatchery Rd Suite 100 Fitchburg, WI 53711

Schedule, Wages & Benefits: $22-$25 per hour, flexible/hybrid schedule 30-40 hours/week, generous PTO and 401K plan, health stipend

Responsibilities include:

• Research and recognize new grant opportunities and potential donors/funders. Prepare grant proposals by determining concept/project, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining input from appropriate staff. Maintain shared grant documentation files, spreadsheets, and budgets. Assist with budget preparation, donor data management and other administrative tasks. Collaborate with MRP team members on a wide range of fundraising and program activities in the book center and the community.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or at least two years of experience in grant writing is preferred. Strong commitment to the mission of Madison Reading Project. Knowledge of and commitment to understanding the diverse needs of our community. Comfort working with children and families in community spaces. Understanding of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and respectfully with a diverse range of individuals Proficient in Google Workspace, Asana, and donor database software
