Director of Development
Salary Range: Up to $75,000
Job Summary:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director of Development is a key member of the CEOs Of Tomorrow team responsible for designing, leading, and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to advance the organization’s mission. This role focuses on diversifying and growing revenue streams through individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundations, government, and events. The Director will work with the Executive Director to cultivate and steward strong relationships with donors, funders, and community partners.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and implement strategies for fundraising through individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundations, grants, government contracts, and events

Research, draft, and submit compelling grant proposals and manage all post-award requirements.

Maintain accurate grant records and reporting schedules.

Ensure all financial calculations and narratives are precise and complete.

Engage and build relationships with existing and potential funders to support the organization with their time, talent, and treasure

Lead sponsorship and donor outreach for major events

Qualify prospective donors and grants

Work with Executive Director to implement Donor Engagement software

Schedule and conduct initial assessment/exploratory meetings with prospects, following up with correspondence, phone calls, and additional visits as appropriate to qualify prospects

Develop and write proposals for grants and planned gift opportunities

Artfully ask for the right gift, at the right time, in the right way.

Collaborate with colleagues, discussing major donor prospects and grants, sharing advice/information, and coordinating activity on shared prospects.

Work with the Executive Director and marketing contractors to create clear and external communications

Plan and implement recognition for donors, including writing thank you letters, making personal calls, arranging meetings, hosting events, etc.

Plan and implement ongoing communication and stewardship with donors.
QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years implementing development strategies or related experience.

Experience creating a comprehensive development strategy

Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills required.

Self-directed, entrepreneurial, ability to work independently, and as a member of an effective development team.
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time exempt
COMPENSATION:
Starting salary range of up to $75,000, depending on education and experience
