JOB SUMMARY: The Development Specialist is responsible for supporting, developing, and executing fundraising initiatives and programs to help achieve AIHP’s overall mission and goals. This position involves researching, prospecting, cultivating and managing relationships with donors, as well as coordinating fundraising activities. This position is responsible for implementing the day-to-day communications-related affairs of AIHP in accordance with the policies, directives, and decisions of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director as they relate to Development. The Development Specialist will collaborate with the AIHP’s staff to develop and promote the AIHP’s archives and library, in addition to its programming and publications; they will interact with AIHP members and friends.
SCOPE & TERMS: Reporting to the Executive Director. Start date is May 12, 2025. The position is a 50% role, meaning no more than 20 hours per week. It is a fixed term role for six months and renewable thereafter, based on performance. Limited travel costs will be reimbursed after consultation and discussion with the AIHP Executive Director. The AIHP has initiated a period in which raising capital is a key priority over a five-year time horizon and the expectation is that the Development Officer will regularly report on established targets. How to Apply:
ELIGIBILITY: The Development Specialist will have at least 2 years of demonstrable experience in the field. Experience with working with nonprofits in Madison / Wisconsin will be preferred. Experience with working with a dedicated Board of Directors will be preferred.
