Development and Communications Coordinator
Salary Range: $20-$24 per hour
Job Summary:
Madison Cat Project is seeking a Development & Communications Coordinator to help grow our nonprofit’s fundraising, communications, and community engagement efforts. This role supports the Executive Director with donor relations, revenue-generating opportunities, database management, fundraising campaigns, and communications. This role will also expand MCP’s digital presence through social media, online communications, and content creation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow social media channels and audience engagement.
- Create and distribute newsletters, fundraising communications, event promotions, and updates.
- Assist with website updates and marketing materials.
- Analyze donor data and trends to support fundraising strategies.
- Process donations, maintain donor records, and complete financial data entry.
- Manage merchandise inventory, sales, and ordering.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including sponsors, vendors, logistics, and execution.
- Support the Executive Director with fundraising and administrative activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and complete additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a team. Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, typically Monday-Friday, with flexibility for occasional evening/weekend events. Some remote work permitted.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Workspace
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record or reliable transportation.
Preferred Experience:
Fundraising/development, nonprofit work, animal welfare, sales, social media or marketing experience. Candidates must have a passion for animals and support Madison Cat Project’s mission, with the ability to work safely and responsibly around animals.
