Vice President of Development

Job Summary:


PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Vice President of Development articulates the vision and sets the strategy for the agency’s development program. They lead and oversee the execution of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin’s (PPWI) statewide fundraising program and provide supervision and support to the development team. The VP is a member of the PPWI senior management team and reports to the Chief Philanthropy & Brand Strategy Officer. 

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The VP of Development must have a deep commitment to the mission, vision and values of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and a broad and deep understanding of fund development work, along with proven leadership ability and strong project management and supervision skills. They must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability and desire to actively engage with people from many backgrounds and points of view.  The VP must maintain a public presence and serve as both a diplomat and advocate for PPWI interests and issues within the donor, volunteer and wider community, locally and statewide.   

SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide the leadership, vision and strategy for raising individual contributions, corporate support and grant revenues to support patient services, education and public affairs programming, as well as capital for special projects. Oversee and maintain strict compliance of all development policies and protocols. Serve as a member of the agency’s Quality and Risk Management committee. Expand major and annual gift programs, diversifying bases of support. Provide on-going consultation and support to the CEO, other Principal Gift Officers, the Board of Directors and other senior managers as a member of the senior management team.  Represent agency on/at key community boards, committees and events, as determined. Cultivate and steward a portfolio of selected major/leadership and planned giving donors. Participate in Planned Parenthood’s national Development Officers’ Council. Secure and manage key consultancies as needed to advance fundraising goals.
