Program Specialist - Grants

Job Summary:

The Program Specialist-Grants will work within and across a variety of functional areas throughout the organization.  The Program Specialist performs a wide range of duties and roles, including grant research; grant writing; grant reporting; project coordination and management; document preparation and management; data gathering, research and analysis; assistance with pay-for-performance efforts; and organizational and grant compliance reporting.

The Program Specialist-Grants is able to function independently, develop and implement systems and processes, coordinate and manage grant-funded and organizational projects, establish timelines and stay on task. The Program Specialist-Grants has strong attention to detail and is able to be flexible and multi-task.  The Program Specialist-Grants ensures confidential information is handled with extreme sensitivity and interacts with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.  This position is able to prioritize tasks and activities and utilizes excellent written and verbal communication skills.   The Program Specialist-Grants requires effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

This position utilizes Microsoft Office products, databases, and other software on a daily basis.  The Program Specialist-Grants participates in professional associations and professional development opportunities as applicable.  

Qualifications: Desired candidate may meet a combination of the following qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent demonstrated writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and ability to navigate database and other software programs as needed
  • Project coordination/project management experience
